Go Local MetroBoston drives social change by uniting local independent businesses and community members/consumers based upon our mission "to simultaneously champion the businesses that make our community unique and reward the people that support them." To fulfill this mission, Go Local MetroBoston aims to increase consumer loyalty to locally owned independent businesses while encouraging local economic growth and celebrating unique communities in the MetroBoston area. Our community investment model focuses on building relationships with diverse stakeholders: identify existing community strengths; research what residents, organizations, and businesses want and need; explore what kind of reward an inexpensive "Go Local Card" could offer; and investigate smart strategies for economic development and community education. The concept of the Go Local card is defined by a simple presentation method with no data collection that can be used at cash based business, such as farmers' markets to brick and mortar establishments. The goal is to create a united front for local businesses and residents/consumers when speaking about the importance of the local economy.Go Local MetroBoston aspires to foster unity and economic prosperity of the entire Metro Boston area while cultivating the individuals strengths and uniqueness of each neighborhood comprising the fabric of Metro Boston as a whole.
