Government Administration - Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand
The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. We promote knowledge of the German language and foster international cultural cooperation. Our cultural and educational programmes encourage intercultural dialogue and enable cultural involvement. They strengthen the development of structures in civil society and foster worldwide mobility. The New Zealand branch of the Goethe-Institut has been based in Wellington since 1980. We teach face-to-face German classes in Auckland and Wellington and offer digital formats New Zealand wide. Wherever possible and desirable the cultural programme in New Zealand is centred on exchange on a professional level. The topography of the country requires a decentralised approach i.e. cultural programmes are frequently organised in other regional centres, for example in Auckland, New Plymouth, Christchurch and Dunedin.
