Non-Profit - Delafield, WI, US
The concept for Gold In September® (G9) was created by Annie Bartosz, an 11-year-old from Hartland, WI. Traveling the country with her family in search of treatments to save her twin brother Jack, Annie witnessed first-hand the struggle of children and families. After 7 years of treatments, cancer claimed Jack's life in 2012 leaving Annie determined to turn the world gold before pediatric cancer claimed the life or spirit of another child. With gold as the national color for childhood cancer and September (the 9th month) as the recognized National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, G9 is a catalyst for hope and change.G9 is a childhood cancer non-profit. Funds raised will be distributed to the Children's Oncology Group's Project: EveryChild in order to test and tissue bank cancer cells from every child with cancer cared for in a Children's Oncology Group program (more than 220 international programs). Funds will also be distributed to the 27 G9 Centers of Excellence located across North America, which includes the Children's Oncology Group's Phase 1 & Pilot Consortium (comprised of premier pediatric oncology programs). The G9 Centers of Excellence will use the funds for pediatric cancer research. G9 is uniquely serving the needs of childhood cancer research by focusing on all children, fighting all cancers, in all regions underneath a golden umbrella of optimism for the future. G9 is turning the world gold to raise awareness, inspire action, and raise funds for global research to help every child, everywhere until cures for cancer are found. Join us.
