Food & Beverages - Sebastopol, California, United States
Gold Ridge Organic Farms is located 50 miles northwest of San Francisco in the rolling hills of Sebastopol in Sonoma County, California. Owner-Farmer Brooke Hazen settled here in 2001 knowing that sandy loam soils and coastal breezes would offer ideal conditions for farming. He planted 70 acres of olives, 16 acres of heirloom apples and a variety of citrus fruits. The farm and mill are certified by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) and Oregon Tilth Certified Organic (OTCO). Four Estate-grown Organic olive oils are grown and then milled each year in the state-of-the-art on-site mill within hours of harvest. The resulting oils are fresh, flavorful, and high in antioxidants. All four oils are annually certified Extra Virgin by the California Olive Oil Council (COOC). Organic apples are harvested July-November and include Honeycrisp, Fuji and 70 eclectic heirloom apple varieties. Currently the apples are primarily sold through Whole Foods Regional Northern California-Tahoe and Feed Sonoma wholesale + CSA Feed Bins. Look for our annual Heirloom Apple Harvest event in September. Our new Farm Shop and Olive Oil Tasting Salon are open to the public by appointment. Curated olive oil educational tastings, tours and shopping hours are included in the offerings. The Farm Shop includes handcrafted goods made from our produce including our Organic EVOO, seasonal fruits, apple cider syrup, apple cider vinegar, olive oil-essential oil soaps and more.
