Civic & Social Organization - Chesterfield, Virginia, United States
GHE Ministries' work focuses on sharing the love of Christ with others by helping them meet their basic needs such as access to food, education, and basic health care whether it be in the U.S. or Overseas. The founder of GHE Ministries, Dr. Jean A. Cadet, started to provide free medical services to rural Haiti in since 2008 through other organizations such as: Project Medishare and Haiti Humanitarian Fund. In January 2013, he organized the Rural Haiti Christian Ministries and by God's providence expanded its activities to include a church community in Conakry, Guinea in West Africa in the summer of the same year. After the experience in Guinea and a quick assessment of the communities in Chesterfield and Petersburg, Virginia, it became evident to the Ministries that Haiti is not and cannot be the only place where its efforts to improve community health and to spread the three angels' messages of Revelation 14 should be focused. Therefore, in March 2014, the name "Rural Haiti Christian Ministries" was changed into "Gospel Health and Education Ministries" also known as GHE Ministries in order to better reflect the expansion in the works of the ministries. GHE Ministries also promotes the adoption of simple health measures to prevent certain avoidable diseases and deaths in the communities we serve. Current projects and planned activities include: Overseas: • Building a church/school in Thomonde, Haiti • Helping to build an elementary school in Kobaya, Guinea • Providing access to Bibles both in Haiti and Guinea • Sponsoring few children in Thomonde, Haiti to go to school • Planning a mission trip to Thomonde, Haiti, in Fall 2014, which will include: o Free health consultation to the community o Carpentry and masonry activities to finish church/school construction o Afternoon evangelistic meetings In the U.S.: • Planning one health fair per quarter in Petersburg area in Virginia • Starting a community garden to support the food pantry at Petersburg SDA church • Making plans to provide by weekly free clinic services to the community by spring 2015 Spread the gospel of Christ including the three angels' messages, wherever God leads, by ministering to others in helping them meet their basic needs such access to health, education and the word of God.
