Goulburn Murray Local Learning & Employment NetworkThere are 31 Local Learning and Employment Networks or LLENs in Victoria, funded by the Victorian Department of Education & Training. The aim of each LLEN is to support young people within their geographical boundaries by improving their participation, engagement, attainment and transition outcomes.GMLLEN works with Industry to source a range of school - industry engagement opportunities within the GMLLEN local government areas, (Greater Shepparton, Strathbogie and Moira Shires), that are tailored to local priorities and support students to expand their knowledge and skills of local industries to enhance effective pathway decisions, as well as increasing their work readiness capabilities.LLENs partner with a range of groups and organisations including education and training providers, business and industry, community agencies, and parent and family organisations. LLENs have a particular focus on young people at risk of disengaging, or who have already disengaged, from education and training and are not in meaningful employment. Each LLEN creates strategic, sustainable partnerships that improve education, pathway and transition outcomes for young people. LLENs use their knowledge of the region to influence strategic planning and broker partnerships among key stakeholders to support young people to remain engaged, or re-engage, in education or training.LLENs are incorporated associations run by a Board or Committee of Management, which each LLEN elects.
