The Government Law College, Indore (GLC, Indore) has been an integral part of Holkar Science College, which was established 125 years ago in the year 1891. It was in the year 1923 when the law education started at the Holkar College. In the year 1961, Arts & Commerce and Law branches were separated from the Holkar College and a new college entity, as Government Arts & Commerce College was formed. The foundation stone of the college building was laid down by the then Prime Minister Shree Jawaharlal Nehru on November 3, 1958, further to which was inaugurated by famous philosopher and then President Dr.Radhakrishnan on December 27, 1960. The college started its new session in the year 1961 as per the directives of the Bar Council of India. On 17.07.2003 GLC, Indore was established as a separate law college, and is currently offering the courses of B.A. LL.B (Hons.), B.B.A LL.B (Hons.), LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M in affiliation with the Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidhyalaya, Indore (Erstwhile Indore University).
