Pennsylvania's state Weed and Seed Initiative uses collaboration among residents, law enforcement, community and faith-based organizations, government and the private sector to rid communities of the criminal element while addressing the root causes of crime and poverty in the target area through prevention, intervention, treatment and neighborhood revitalization strategies to strengthen community residents and develop local leadership.The Pennsylvania Weed & Seed Initiative is a law enforcement and community revitalization effort under the direction of the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency and The Targeted Community Revitalization and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee.
