Grace Kate Photography is the husband and wife photography team of Josh and Renee Blackstone. Our photographic journey started in college as we both immersed ourselves in black and white photography, under the direction of Fred Dearnly at the University of Maine at Farmington, as we filled out electives in our separate majors. Though we went on to complete our degrees and eventually on to other work, we both came away with a deep appreciation and fondness for the photographic creative process and for developing technical finesse in the darkroom.As we began our family, we made the switch to the 'Digital Age' by making the jump from film and promptly purchasing our first Nikon DSLR to begin taking photos of our two little girls. As our personal library of photos of our daughters grew, we truly fell in love with family and portrait photography and all that goes with it. In the summer of 2011 we decided to take the next step by opening up our part-time photography business, and as they say, "the rest is history". Since capturing our daughters' personalities as well as the daily laughter and joy that they bring to our lives inspires us so much, our business is named for them; Addie (Grace) and Haleigh (Kate). Photos are all about telling your story in a still image; capturing that memory, that moment and freezing it in time forever. Whether it's the intricacies of life and love or the beauty of the world around you, we want to help you capture that story and share it.
