Grail specialises in 3D static modelling with a focus on real data not geostatistical fantasy. GEL has the capability to undertake subsurface studies (geophysical, petrophysical and geological) to ensure static models accurately represent client data. We don't just build static models, we undertake rapid evaluations to validate techniques and approaches based on the data available.We can create exploration scoping models, well pad models and full field development models. We effectively integrate geophysical, geological and production data to ensure a representative fluid-flow model is generated ready for simulation. GEL also upscales and transitions the static models to the simulator of choice to enable rapid handover to Reservoir Engineers.Our idealised approach is;• undertake rock-typing (where core analysis is available and/or thin section data) to understand what controls the reservoir pore system - only then can we identify what can be used to guide poroperm distributions• ensure geophysics data is reliable (depth conversion and surfaces)• assess seismic attributes to aid in distributing reservoir properties and assure the use of measured data if quantitative relationships can be established• confirm the cell scales are practical for simulation• generate structural modelling once pressure compartments are identified• property modelling with a focus on generating the porosity model via attribute derived NTG/Facies/Lithology guides where relationships are substantiated• model permeabilityGEL offers a QA/QC process for existing models, generating a high-quality report evaluating the model inputs, modelling process and methodology, identifying any concerns and generating a forward plan to enhance the model to ensure it is fit for purpose. This process is very cost effective and can normally be undertaken within a few weeks at the clients premises.
