Grand Boulevard Prevention Services (GBPS)was incorporated in May of 2016 an innovative strategically crafted prevention initiative promoting cultural specific messages to engage youth in making right choices, by choosing not to use. "Turn down, not up" are decisions pushed by GBPS peer advocates, modeling proven behaviors that "Most Youth Don't Use". Now GBPS "Listen and Watch, " sessions continue to bring community and youth together as they participated in Positive Loitering Events, and all were effected by information shared from youth face on a daily basis, whether walking through the neighborhood, or sitting in the classroom. Youth shared their stories, and GBPS staff increased their knowledge base as - youth gave voice of what they were running from not too- the next hit- . The online community prevention surveys engaged and provided GBPS with cultural specific youth centered input to find answers to questions of why some use and some don't, why some choose to be involved in at risk and other do not, and why it is important to have places where youth can interact socially in an environment where they are accepted for whom they are, and can share their solutions to issues that negatively affect their community . And so what does GBPS do it advocates for youth to grow up aware, empowered, informed , and through " Youth Talks, Prevention Sessions, Online Engagement Surveys, and coordination of Town Halls, ' Youth Grow positively, give back to communities through their talk and walk, and embrace the positivity in knowing " That Most Youth Don't Use.
