At Great Aves, our mission is to raise educational standards worldwide. The Arajuno Road Project, our maiden project in Amazonian Ecuador, serves the local community by providing the knowledge, expertise, and volunteers necessary to achieve a lasting positive impact. The project consists of the teaching program, aimed at assisting local schools, and the new community development program, aimed at educating local community members about the benefits of environmentally sustainable practices. Our Vision is to bring educational standards in rural areas to a similar level found in an urban setting, through teaching, access to materials and a sharing of knowledge and expertise. This goal to be implemented in Ecuador and replicated in other developing countries in South & Central America, Africa and Asia. It is to be achieved through the provision of volunteers that serve to reduce classroom sizes, assist current teachers, and bring in areas of expertise not currently available in these areas. Volunteers also serve to assist with providing the human resources and expertise necessary to establish environmentally sustainable practices for local farms and businesses.
