Great Lakes Life Magazine premiered in 2008 under the name Erie Life Magazine. The magazine set out to be a fresh and exciting voice for the region, featuring it as a unique, innovative area and a geographically beautiful place to reside. The magazine's basic mission is to shine a light on what the entire tri-state region has to offer through dynamic design and photography, as well as thoughtful and thought-provoking editorial. Great Lakes Life focuses on a different theme each month including health care, food & dining, and green living. Content rich articles include pieces on arts and culture, history, business, dining and entertainment, travel, economy, true crime, family life, fashion, and health care.In its first two years, Great Lakes Life Magazine saw an unprecedented growth, increasing distribution from only 25 small, independent retail locations to over 640 big box retail points in four states and southern Ontario including Barnes & Noble, Borders, Wegmans Food Markets, Walmart, Walgreeens, Country Fair, Giant Eagle Grocery Stores, Chapters, and Indigo Books and Music. Today, Great Lakes Life's readership is close to 100,000 people and our subscription base is over 5,000 people.Great Lakes Life Magazine is deeply committed to promoting the region and making the area a better place to live. In its first year alone, Great Lakes Life donated over $140,000 in free advertising and collateral materials to several area nonprofits.Our Mission: To provide our region with a progressive, newsworthy, and creative monthly publication that reveals the essence and uniqueness of the tri-state area, and motivate residents, visitors, and investors to truly recognize our region's place and value in today's culture.
