Great Plains Sand is a respectful member of our community. We participate with residents in a local mine review committee and work with their input to protect the environment and to create a planned end use of the reclaimed mine site. By being one of the only frac sand operators in the Upper Midwest to have mining, processing and load out all on one site, Great Plains Sand eliminates the elevated environmental impacts created by companies trucking between multiple sites.This facility was purchased by Fairmount Minerals (Fairmount Santrol) in 2013 and is no longer in operation under this name.
