Semiconductors - Carbondale, Illinois, United States
A decade ago, a group of innovative individuals created a unique space on Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Agriculture Building. A green space on the roof for research projects and showcasing native plants in the region; however, Southern Illinois area is not ideal for a Green Roof to thrive due to the heat and dryness. We have a unique innovative culture nurturing success and progression. Our team is transforming the SIU Green Roof into a interdisciplinary space for fostering individual passion projects for future Salukis to gain valuable experience! Our cross-university team of students envision a green space for any student, regardless of major, to have opportunities to discover their passions. We are specifically reaching out to STEM students in the engineering, computer science, and agricultural sciences field for unique opportunities. However, instead of asking, our team is showcasing different opportunities through low-cost engineering projects from wind turbines, photovoltaics, and autonomous irrigation systems.
