GreenDirt started as five high school students with a vision to make an impact on the world. After joining Conant High School's Business Incubator class in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, we decided to take on the problem of food waste. After working tirelessly with our local business mentor David Wolff, owner of Wolff's Flea Market and teacher Tony Miller, we won our school pitch. Then we advanced to and won our district finals, receiving startup capital. After that, we were selected for the IncubatorEDU national pitch, and out of a pool 500+ teams, we were named the #1 team in the nation, receiving more funding with a real chance to make an impact on the world.
