Greene County Economic Development Corporation Details
The Greene County Economic Development Corporation's mission is to enhance the quality of life for Greene County residents by fostering an environment that will create and retain jobs, increase the tax base and promote economic growth. Greene County Economic Development Corporation (GCEDC) is the primary organization in the county that promotes a variety of industrial and business development activities as well as retention and expansion of existing businesses. GCEDC also coordinates with local and regional agencies to provide educational services such as business start-up and entrepreneurial development opportunities; developing Greene County's major assets; promotion of county-wide tourism; and implementing the Indiana HomeTown Competitiveness and Indiana Main Street programs in local communities. GCEDC works hand in hand with the WestGate@Crane Technology Park, Indiana's only tri-county Certified Tech Park near the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC at Crane, the world's third largest U.S. Navy installation.GCEDC uses an integrated approach to community, business, workforce and economic development. The private not-for-profit organization has a board of directors and an investorship group made up of private companies and individuals.
