Textiles - Bristol, England, United Kingdom
In a Bristol studio Green&Heath was dreamt up by award winning entrepreneur and passionate textiles manufacturer, Ellen Green. Founder of independent lifestyle brand Blue Badge Co, Ellen took 6 months maternity leave in 2018. Whilst breastfeeding her newborn, Ellen spent many hours captivated by the scandal, romance and heartbreak of Downton Abbey. Engrossed in period dramas, this appetite for the British aristocracy evolved into visiting historic British houses with her young daughter. Fascinated by the charm and aesthetics of bygone years, Ellen sought fabrics that reflected the splendor of this distinguished style. Discovering that the patterns available felt stuffy and nostalgic, the notion of modernising designs that celebrate classic British splendour and artistic taste began to take shape. Concerned with quality and provenance and equipped with UK textile manufacturing experience, Green&Heath was born. The name is derived from a combination of Ellen's parents' surnames and a love for the countryside. Greens and heaths are open, uncultivated grassy spaces, where many historic houses and gardens are found. Our patterns are full of passion and romance reflecting the splendour, intrigue and aesthetics of Britain's bygone years. Our distinguished style is beautifully delivered through our unique fabric designs creating our aspirational products with an ethical conscience. Green&Heath products have unquestionable virtue and sustainability credentials. Our fabrics are printed on natural fibres and the majority of our products are handmade in the UK - resulting in zero air miles and recycled material for packaging only. Our cushions are plumped with 100% British wool, which is considered to be the most eco-friendly natural filling currently available.
