GreenLight Initiative is a youth-led non-profit organization that saves lives by improving safety. It employs evidence-based interventions and advocacy campaigns to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on the roads of Africa's largest country. The nonprofit organization which started operations in March 2013 is registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT/NO 105916). GreenLight produce and broadcast the famous weekly Drive2Live road safety radio program on the Nigeria Armed Forces Radio 107.7fmInterventionsGreenLight initiative aims at decreasing the high rate of road crashes in Nigeria with the following evidence-based interventions:• Placement of stickers in public taxis to encourage passengers to speak up against speeding• Advocacy towards the Government to strengthen road safety bills• Increasing awareness of drivers through radio programming, road walk, social media engagements and seminars. • Training of road safety advocates • Sensitization workshops for public drivers in bus garage PartnersGreenLight Initiative has long-standing partnerships with the following organizations:• Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)• UN Focal Point on Road Safety & Traffic Injury Prevention Nigeria• Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW)• Painted Abuja Taxi • Special Marshal• Vehicular Inspectorate Officers (VIO)
