We provide women who have experienced abuse with support to achieve financial independence. We work predominantly with women who are currently living in domestic abuse shelters, providing them with:- skills training, using therapeutic and traditional silversmithing techniques- employment, with a fair wage and in a safe environmentAs all the silversmiths in Senegal are currently men, we are also hoping this will start a small wave of female silversmiths and contribute to changing social norms.Our contemporary designs emulate the organic textures of the natural environment of Dakar - sea, beaches and marine life. Our simple and elegant designs highlight the natural textures of the materials they were created in. Like the natural world, no two pieces of jewellery are the same - each inscribed with their own unique texture.It is important to us that all of our jewellery is 100% sustainable. We work exclusively with sustainable coastal materials (beach sand, washed up cuttlefish bone) and recycled precious metals.
