Our MissionThe mission of Greenwoods Counseling Referrals, Inc. is to provide access to high-quality and affordable mental healthcare and related social services for individuals and families living or working in Litchfield County.Our HistoryGreenwoods was founded in 1992 by the Rev. W. David Dobbins Jr., a Litchfield County Episcopal minister. Trained as a counselor, the Rev. Dobbins saw how difficult it was for people in crisis to find their way to the right help. In response, he built a carefully screened network of doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals willing to see clients regardless of their ability to pay.Many of those seeking professional referrals from Greenwoods ask for, and receive, financial help. Others do not need financial help, but seek us out for professional referrals only.Over the years the Greenwoods network has expanded to include a wide variety of clinicians, clinics, and social service providers. Let Greenwoods guide you through the process of getting help. Call (860) 567-4437.COME IN: Come in to meet with an experienced mental health therapist for an assessment at the Greenwoods office.GET CONNECTED: Greenwoods will match you with a short list of mental health care providers that are selectively chosen based on your specific needs. It is your choice who to see for help and your responsibility to make your own appointment, although we can assist with these things when needed. We can provide additional referrals for other kinds of support services as needed.WE FOLLOW UP: We follow up to make sure you've connected with a mental health therapist that you feel comfortable with. About one week after your appointment at Greenwoods you will get a call from our clinical administrative assistant Liz to ensure you're getting the help you need.
