Gritcube builds the capacity of young, highly ambitious African entrepreneurs by connecting them to professionals around the globe. We support our entrepreneurs ("Fellows") through one-to-one partnerships with young professionals ("Associates"). Partnerships last for eight months and are focused on creating a business and funding plan, seeking out opportunities for funding, and setting up the initial operations. Gritcube was founded on the vision to reduce youth unemployment through the power of new businesses and markets created and propelled by Africans. We believe that the global connections created through Gritcube can foster business and innovation in Africa. We are a lean organization that takes advantage of global connectivity: most of our operations are conducted online. Communications between Fellows and Associates will also be web and mobile-based. Our first fellowship year will last from September 2015 to May 2016. Fellows for our first year will be recruited from Zambia.
