Groundwork Music Project began in 2006 as an affordable preschool music and movement class with the vision that all children should have access to the proven benefits of music education at a young age. As Groundwork has grown, so has its vision. Our mission is to provide free and low cost music lessons to young children with limited means. Now in more than a dozen Austin preschools and elementary schools, Groundwork now offers ukulele lessons in elementary school programs, after-school programs, preschools, private lessons, group lessons, and more. Our teacher training program works with preschool and elementary school teachers who want to learn how to use music as a learning tool. Our own teachers are musicians who have been screened and trained with the James Hill Ukulele Initiative curriculum. It is our belief that learning begins on the right note!
