Groundworks Collaborative was established in 2015 as a result of the merger of two well-established organizations: the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center and Morningside Shelter. Groundworks mission is to provide ongoing support to families and individuals facing a full continuum of housing and food insecurities in the greater Brattleboro area. Our programs include: • Food Shelf - serves an average of 90 households each day • Shelter - a year-round 30-bed shelter for families and individuals • Seasonal Overflow Shelter – open in the winter months, serving an average of 25 individuals per night • Day Shelter – provides a safe space to spend the day as well as email, telephones, laundry, showers, coffee and snacks for homeless individuals and families • Case Management – for currently and formerly homeless families and individuals • Representative Payee – financial management for over 50 clients on SSI and/or SSDI – ensures that rent and basic living expenses are paid on time each month
