Growing Together Family Daycare offers a warm family environment filled with play and emergent learning. Our intimate setting allows me to get to know my students, who then feel safe, heard and accepted for the unique individuals they are. I make room in our schedule for children to work together to plan activities and solve any problems that arise. This democratic approach offers my students ongoing practice at hearing and being heard, problem-solving, and empathy, and builds essential social skills such as emotional regulation.I opened my daycare in 2010 for my then-toddler and I to make friends in our warm, anti-bias environment where we value children's budding independence, model peaceful interdependence, and allow for growth through healthy risk-taking. Our mixed-age group allows younger children to learn from older ones, while older kiddos protect and help the little ones.I endeavor to meet the needs of children to feel accepted and included, and to experience a natural, fun, un-rushed childhood.
