GroWings is a non-profit initiative organized by veteran Lone Soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). GroWings brings Lone Soldiers together through direct and indirect mentorship. Our offering of unique opportunities for Lone Soldiers by Lone Soldiers is there to accompany them through the maze of uncertainty they are dropped into. We are not here to give them the master map but more so to provide them with the knowledgeable guidance and support from those who have experienced the breakthrough to the other side. Like most mazes, there is one way in and one way out but once you are in the belly of the beast it is not always as simple or sensible to turn around or panic. The hard realization for many is that you must trust yourself because only you can get yourself through it. We are there for our soldiers when that moment of panic sets in, as they realize that trying to go back to the beginning can be more of a whirlwind challenge then continuing to push forward. Often times once hitting the point of no return, panic is inevitable, which is why we arm them with the support system and resources to reach that point and preserver to the end. The mission of GroWings is to be the consistent point of certainty for the soldiers, so they can have peace of mind knowing that in their lowest moments, when crisis creeps up, no matter the time, place, or situation, they will always have our community to turn to. We ensure no Lone Soldier ever truly feels alone.
