Growthshoot was founded in 2014, by two young and dynamic South African women who come from a finance and entrepreneurship background, and have both had exposure to financial services, agriculture,hospitality, and management consulting industries. The main focus is to engage and employ the youth within the agricultural sector by developing business models that provide steady income streams for smallholder farmers, up skill unemployed students with who have studied agriculture at school, to contribute towards rural development in South Africa. This is done through facilitating agricultural projects that are focused on uplifting the rural community, by contributing to increasing employment, reducing poverty and increasing food security. Vision and mission: GrowthShoot aims to create a model for success that will enable the venture to be a partner of choice for stakeholders agriculture, whilst creating multiple agripreneurs amongst smallholder farmers. We aim to transform the way agriculture is within the rural economy – one community,one province one country at a time.
