Grupo Palo Alto has two distinct missions. To do brief problem-solving therapy through the Brief Therapy Clinic, and Room to Talk, a community based agency that offers brief therapy to underserved populations, primarily in East Palo Alto and to train therapists nationally and internationally in the problem-solving brief therapy model, as it was originally taught to Karin Schlanger by Dr. Richard Fisch, Paul Watzlawick and John Weakland.
