Grupthink was a website that allowed users to create and run opinion polls on virtually any subject. The website also allowed any user to add an answer to an existing poll. Questions asked on the site were usually open-ended but could also be simple yes/no queries. The site acted as a social networking site by pointing the user to others who had answered polls in a similar way to themselves.In addition to being a free social website, Grupthink was used commercially by large and small organizations to do private online focus groups, as well as public community-oriented "best of" contests.
