This year marks the 23rd iteration of GSMUN, a conference built and run on the mentality of creating change in the community. As the premier Model United Nations conference in the Richmond Area and a top high school organized conference in Virginia, GSMUN prides itself on having an amazing and dedicated staff who work year-round to make this conference possible. GSMUN has meticulously crafted 22 fun and innovative committees this year for delegates to partake in, ranging from general assemblies to tension-filled crisis committees. Last year, 500 delegates from across the Mid-Atlantic region attended GSMUN. Thanks to our partnership with The Richmond Forum, we have hosted prominent speakers like former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former Federal Reserve Chairman Benjamin Bernanke, former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Dr. ElBaradei, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, former Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power, and political risk analyst Ian Bremmer.
