Largest private corporate group operating transit bus service for the City of New York, consisting of 750 buses, $66 million farebox revenue, $104 million other revenue, 70 million annual ridership. Ancillary businesses included school bus, park-and-fly shuttle bus, paratransit, and bus shelter operations (installation and maintenance) throughout City of New York. Company sold its bus operations to the City of New York in 2006, and completely withdrew from the transportation industry in 2008. The majority of operations of MTA Bus Company consists of operations previously conducted by G.T.J. Co., Inc., affiliates. Remaining real estate formed the base of a newly reorganized company now known as GTJ REIT, Inc.
