Guangdong South New Media Inc. (SNM) was established by Guangdong Radio & Television (GRT) on September 8, 2010. It is the only authorized organization to operate GRT's new media business. GRT integrated former Southern Media Corporation (SMC) and its subsidiaries such as Radio Guangdong, GDTV and TVS, and currently has 9 radio channels, 12 broadcasting TV channels, 10 digital TV channels, 3 newspapers and 1 magazine. Satellite signals cover more than 50 countries and regions in Asia, Oceania, Africa and East Europe, with over 2 billion viewer population.Supported by GRT's licenses, SNM has incomparable advantages over other private new media companies.
