Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center (GWCMC) is officially designated National Children's Medical Center for South Central Region. It is the largest Level-A tertiary hospital in South China offers the most advanced maternal and pediatric health care in the region. Currently, five campuses are offering services, and two additional campuses are under construction located in Nansha and Zengcheng districts of Guangzhou, respectively. When the two new campuses are completed, the total number of available inpatient beds will increase from the current 1,700 to 3,000.Currently, GWCMC has three National Key Clinical Specialties, seven Provincial Key Clinical Specialties and two Key Disciplines. Besides, GWCMC is the Provincial Clinic Medical Research Center for Child Health, the Applied Engineering Technology Research Center for Children's Early Development of Guangdong and the Provincial Key Laboratory for Birth Defects. Since 2011, GWCMC has been listed among the 100 best hospitals in China by the annual Fudan Ranking of Best Hospitals. For pediatric surgery and pediatrics specialty rankings, GWCMC was ranked at 5th and 9th in 2019, respectively.
