Dedicated to serve the society, the students of National Institute of Technology, Silchar have volunteered in all ways possible since 2010.We, the student volunteers, have been working hard to bring minimal yet significant changes through educational outreach, IT education, awareness drives, innovative projects in NIT Silchar.GYANSAGAR is a visionary venture started by the student community with a view to witness and to transform society around us and within oneself, for better. This was a brave step taken to uplift the underprivileged with tiny bits of effort and humanity from every youth in and across the country. MOTIVE:1. To impart education and eradicate ignorance.2. To see that the whole community is benefitted by it.3. To bring the sense of moral responsibility and shape up the skills such as leadership, perseverance and rectitude.OBJECTIVE:1. To give a chance to poor and indigent to be a part of mainstream services.2. To help bringing the drop-out students back to school.3. To make them aware of better income options and how to incorporate it in a planned way.4. To make them aware of the different government policies launched for their benefit.Some of our most prominent undertakings are:1. Cloth Donation Programme2. Teaching Programmes for the underprivileged students.3. Blanket Donation Programme for people living in the jaws of extreme climates.4. NIT-CIT programme: It is a program under which we provide the Basic Computer skills to all those who are unable to access it easily in their daily lives.5. NIT-CEA programme: This programme gives the underprivileged people, the skills to perform some of the basic daily tasks like repairing electronic appliances etc. in order to get a daily earning.
