The Gütegemeinschaft Sekundärbrennstoffe und Recyclingholz e. V. (Quality Association for Secondary Fuels and Recycled Wood) (BGS) was founded in 1999 with the aim of promoting the production and use of quality-assured solid recovered fuels in order to conserve natural resources and reduce CO2 emissions. About 60 manufacturers, users, as other companies and institutions are working together in the association to achieve this. A commitment to quality assurance is a prerequisite for the further development of the solid recovered fuel market. High availability and binding quality regulations pave the way for trade facilitation and the recognition of secondary fuels as standard fuels. The focus of our work is on the awarding of the quality label, the technical support of the recognition and monitoring procedure as well as all current issues relating to the processing of solid recovered fuels. We are constantly exchanging information and experience within the bodies of the association as well as at national and international conferences and trade fairs. The support and implementation of relevant projects and research projects is just as much a part of our tasks as the monitoring of legislative procedures and cooperation in national and international committees. The path that brings everyone forward: - Targeted fuel production and a closed system for quality assurance- Labelling of high-quality solid recovered fuels by awarding the quality mark- Qualification of laboratories through annual performance of a round robin test- International standardisation of solid recovered fuelsIn this way, the environmentally friendly and resource-saving use of secondary fuels can be further expanded and open up new perspectives for both the economy and the environment......to make targeted use of these opportunities is our task, on which we are consistently working.
