Civic & Social Organization - Lublin, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland
HAART Poland - founded in 2018, is a sister organization to HAART Kenya. The goal of the foundation is to fight human trafficking by raising awareness of modern forms of slavery and financially supporting the fight against human trafficking in Africa (especially in Kenya). HAART Kenya was established in 2010 on the initiative of Radosław Malinowski, who, together with a group of lawyers, missionaries and humanitarian workers of various nationalities, began work to educate about modern forms of slavery and methods of counteracting in Kenya. Since 2014, HAART has been providing comprehensive assistance to victims of trafficking in human beings - it provides them with safe shelter, psychological therapy, legal support and accompanies them in their return to society. The average cost of helping one victim from the moment of saving through the rehabilitation process to returning to the family or starting work is approx. 4,000. USD. In 2019, 174 victims received support, and in 2020, 160 people were under our care. In June 2020, Sophie Otiende - a member of the HAART Kenya board of directors - was selected by the US government as one of the ten awarded abolitionists.
