Hack Frost NL is the official community-wide hackathon organized by students from Memorial University of Newfoundland.Hack Frost NL will provide you with the workshops, mentorship, and software your team will need in order to build a successful project. We will connect you with our sponsors to offer you the opportunity to chat with people in the industry. Our theme for this year will be Data Science.Below are the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:- What is a hackathon? A hackathon is an opportunity to learn new concepts about tech and apply them to some cool ideas. These ideas are formulated to create things like websites, apps, or unthinkable solutions to a problem presented by the theme of the hackathon.Don't worry, you don't have to have experience coding or be an expert with computers to participate, think of it as an opportunity!-How much does it cost to participate in Hack Frost NL? Hack Frost NL will be FREE for all participants.-Who can register? Whether you're a high-school student, a university student, or a recent gradate, you can definitely register!Mentor and judge opportunities are also open for experienced professionals interested in our event! See our website for more details.-I don't have a strong coding experience, can I still participate? Of course! The event isn't about who's the best programmer, it's a learning experience! We will run workshops for beginners throughout the event that will help you learn something valuable!-What are the prizes? Our team is currently looking for cool prizes that will offer winners valuable experiences. -Do I need a team? Yes. We strongly encourage you to arrange a team of 2 to 4 people before registering. When you register, you can create a team, join an already existing one, or sign up individually.If you don't have a team arranged before the event, we will be hosting a team-forming session at the beginning of the hackathon on Hopin and through a Slack channel.
