Hackathon Society, HKU aims to bring to you all the necessary skills for participating and winning a hackathon and beyond. We provide an environment to allow experimentation with hardware and software. Our aim is to foster creative and entrepreneurial minds to build something extraordinary. The society will conduct regular workshops for activities such as public speaking, app development, presentation preparation and much more.This society isn't just limited to hackathons, it will be undertaking several projects under the guidance of university professors and other experts. Moreover, hackathon veterans, winners and entrepreneurs will share their experiences and suggestions.Additionally, HackSoc plans to organize an annual hackathon which is not just limited to HKU students but students from other universities as well. Cross-discipline collaboration will be advised in the annual hackathon so participants could develop skills necessary in the corporate world. The Hackathon will not be only about idea generation, product designing and coding but will house other activities such as competitive coding, website designing comps, gaming competitions etc. Hackathon society is aimed towards including international students in more activities across the campus and creating a healthy relationship between locals and the internationals. We also want to promote creativity and curiosity among students so that they take initiatives to start their own university funded projects.
