The HADIA Foundation is a highly effective unique not-for-profit organisation founded in Australia by a group of like minded people with its humanitarian projects operating in war-torn Afghanistan. Our objective is to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan by promoting education and creating healthy communities. HADIA works in the areas of:- Education: it has established Afghanistan's first mobile library for children. - Health: HADIA provides multivitamins to children, lactating and pregnant women.- Prosthetic hands: in a bid to help amputees become self-sustainable, it provides prosthetic hands. HADIA stands for Humanitarian Assistance for Driving International Action. In Afghan languages, "Hadia" means gift. One of HADIA Foundation's flagship projects is the establishment of Afghanistan's very first mobile library for children. The Moska Mobile Library distributes free books to children in remote regions of Afghanistan. It is Afghanistan's largest mobile library for children that has covered more than 70,000 girls and boys so far. The objective of this library is to introduce the culture of reading among Afghan children and improve their literacy levels by providing them books that teach peace, co-existence and sharing.Moska Mobile Library is setup on tricycle motorbike that travels the streets of rural Afghanistan and plays its ice-cream van like tone, the kids hear the tone inside their houses, come out and get their free books. Our librarian returns two weeks later to collect the old books and replace them with new colourful titles. www.hadiafoundation.org
