The support, advocacy and health promotion group for Australians with haemochromatosis (inherited iron overload disorder). We are a volunteer run organisation, with 1500 members throughout Australia. We rely on membership subscriptions and donations for our operations. We receive no recurring support from government.Haemochromatosis is the most common genetic disorder in Australia. It is completely treatable if diagnosed early but if left untreated, it may lead to serious and life-threatening conditions. We operate an informative website, InfoLine 1300 019 028, publish print and electronic resources and a quarterly newsletter, and produce videos. Our aims are to support those diagnosed with haemochromatosis and to raise awareness of the condition in the community and medical professions so that those at genetic risk are diagnosed and treated early, before harm occurs. Our vision: 'No Australian will suffer harm from haemochromatosis'.
