A solid Jazz Big Band was the greatest passion for most of us, founders and members of the Big Band. Being practitioners of different sector and fields, most of the Big Band members were beginners in playing brass - instrument, even unfamiliar with musical notation. After series of discussions in one café in Southern Jakarta, three jazz fanatics, Sonny Pangestu, Roberto Joko, and Dharmo Sudirman manifested the idea of this ‘school of jazz'. Roberto Joko anticipatedly carried the missing gap of being the teacher for the band. One question popped up during the monumental chat of naming the Big Band. Considering the enormous passion, over flowing energy with perfect enthusiasm. The three founders thought "Whatever will be, let's do it!..HajarBleh!" The Big Band first performance was on October 31st, 2010. This date was also marked the official launching of HajarBleh Big Band. Having played various genre of music with a touch of jazz, HajarBleh Big Band is a place for everyone with great passion for music, willingness to learn and grow to always carry the legacy of spreading the joy, fun, and magic of music.
