Haku Wale was a client services company with a traditional work for hire business model. We self-funded the company and were profitable within a few months of startup. We were fortunate to provide our software design and development services for a wide range of organizations, including Zynga, eBay, The City of San Francisco, The Glide Foundation, Children's Hospital Oakland, Yahoo, and the SF Children's Council. As we grew the client services side of our business, we also became interested in launching our own original products. We created an application for the City of San Francisco called the EcoFinder for iPhone (it used an open city data feed to show people where to get rid of things they couldn't dispose of through curbside systems). This project was extraordinarily rewarding for us and we were excited to pursue additional products of our own. Haku Wale reached its final pinnacle of success when it was acquired 2010.
