Half Acre Woods is an outdoor science enrichment program for children 2-7 years old. Our mission is to propel students into success as scientists, problem solvers, and compassionate thinkers. We focus our methods on two pillars, building the skills needed for Next Generation Science Standards, and the pro social skills necessary for proper social emotional development. Outdoor learning carries many benefits to child development far beyond nurturing scientific thinking. Outdoor learning promotes balance and coordination, self reliance and teamwork, as well as both fine and gross motor skills. Nature can decrease stress and increase focus making it an ideal learning environment which helps students retain what they have learned long after the class.
