Halfway Hounds mission is to give homeless dogs a new leash on life, with grooming, behavior modification, obedience training, rehabilitation and temporary kennel housing. Halfway Hounds assists potentially adoptable dogs who have been owner surrendered, or can no longer stay at a shelter or in a foster home, by providing them with temporary housing. What makes Halfway Hounds unique is we help correct behavior problems. Our program provides dogs with a behavior assessment, obedience training and the emotional rehabilitation necessary for a permanent placement. In addition, the new pet owner(s) will receive a behavior assessment report on the dog, free or discounted obedience training and a follow-up call or visit from the trainer.
