A voluntary organisation providing nationally qualified Search Dog teams to assist the emergency services to look for vulnerable missing people. All our members are 100% volunteers, meaning we receive no pay or money towards expenses. Our Dogs and Handlers are trained and assessed to national standards under the umbrella organisation ALSAR. The humans in the team also qualify as ALSAR Lowland Search Technicians. We train twice a week and are on call 24/7 to assist the emergency services in Hampshire and when necessary support the search teams of neighbouring counties. Like so many volunteer organisations we receive no government funding so we rely entirely on donations and sponsorship to keep the team operational. All funds raised go towards providing search equipment, appropriate clothing and the running of the team. WANT TO BE INVOLVED? There are many ways in which you can be involved with Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs: Operational Dog Handler - a team with your own dog. Operational Support - providing support during live searches. Training Support - affectionately known as "Dogzbody'ing". In addition we welcome interest from people who can support the team in a non-operational capacity such as through fund raising, PR or grant applications, donations or sponsorship. For more information on Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs and what we do or how you can be involved please contact by email or visit our website.
