Hampstead Rugby Club is renowned throughout London for playing running rugby with a huge emphasis on enjoyment both on and off the field. We field 6 mens' sides and 2 ladies' sides and are developing a youth section.Originally the Hampstead Heathens Sports Club was founded in 1863 and was the birthplace for other notable clubs, such as Harlequins, Wasps & Rosslyn Park. There was a ‘temporary dissolution' of the club at the start of the First World War & stayed dormant until 1967, when Mike Flynn & friends got together & re-formed the club.Based in the White Horse, a quality pub near Hampstead Heath train station; training & playing on Hampstead Heath; we are the envy of many of our rivals in North and North West London. Our first XV play in London 2NE; our other senior sides play in the Canterbury Shield and HMMT Leagues; and our Ladies in RFUW SE1 leagues.
