Hank and Bean is a food design and production studio in Los Angeles featuring chef driven consulting, food r&d and catering. Co-founded by Chef Henry Fischer and Anna Rose Hopkins, Hank and Bean serves a broad range of palates. Fischer's background in fine dining and restaurant management (Animal Group, NOMA, Olives NY, Vendøme) provides a strong foundation for direct to client food and beverage services. Meanwhile, Hopkins brings more than 20 years of FOH experience, and 10 years of event planning, management and private chef services. As caterers, we offer small and large scale services that embraces form, function and ethos.Fischer also brings global food knowledge to Hank and Bean, having spent formative professional years exchanging culinary insights with the Cultural Ministries of Japan and of South Korea. His work, paired with time spent in Noma's Food Lab, gives Fischer a unique edge when it comes to culinary r&d and trend scouting.Further, Hopkins brings a narrative design function to the partnership. Examples of such narrative design in action include the following collaborations: "Making the Best of It: Nimble Food for Climate Chaos" and "Soupy, Salty, Sonic: A Liquid Wanting" both produced in collaboration with artist Marina Zurkow.
