Happy Dragon, a provider approved by the NYS Department of Health, has a contract with NYC to provide monolingual and bilingual early Interventions (HOME BASED & CENTER BASED) services for four of NYC's boroughs: Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx. The Early Intervention Program: The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a state-wide program which provides professional services to infants and toddlers under 3 years old with developmental delays or disabilities. This public program helps parents, who are concerned about their children's development, obtain evaluations and when appropriate, to find home or community-based services to meet their children's special needs. Early Intervention Services: Early Intervention Services are designated to provide the best outcome for the child, parents, and family in the home, a daycare or other community settings. Evaluations and services include the following: -Special Instruction -Social Work and family training counseling -Speech – Language Therapy -Occupational Therapy -Physical Therapy -Psychological -Service Coordination -Vision Services -Nutrition Services -others There Are No Fees for These Services! The Early Intervention Program is funded and regulated by the NYS Department of Health and, in NYC, by the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH). Early Intervention Services, as designated in the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and authorized by NYC DOHMH, are provided at NO COST to you. Health care coverage is not required. When child's health insurance is available, it may be used by the Department to cover some of the costs.
