The company was established in 1997 following the merger of three long-established surveyors practices. The merger brought together a team of practitioners with nearly 60 years of experience in London and the home counties. In order to provide further more extensive services during 2015 and 2016 , Hardings merged with the practice of Michael Roberts FRICS and consecutively with Sarah Whittington MRICS from Alexandra Estates Ltd.
