International Day of Persons with Disabilities or 'Hari Disabilitas Internasional' is a special day for persons with disabilities which is observed every 3 December. This International Day of Persons with Disabilities was first initiated by the United Nations in 1992 with the aim of promoting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities in public life and to increase public understanding of disability issues. In addition, with the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, it is hoped that it can increase public awareness to the situation of persons with disabilities and being able to provide support to them in various aspects of life, such as political, economic, social, and social aspects culture.Based on data from the National Socio-Economic Survey in 2018, there were around 30.38 million people with disabilities in Indonesia or around 14.2 percent of the Indonesian population. Considering that there are quite a number of people with disabilities in Indonesia, it shows how important it is for the public to know about disability issues. In this way, it is hoped that the public can participate in efforts to fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities as regulated in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities. One of the rights of persons with disabilities as stated in Pasal 5 UU No. 8 Thn 2016, concerning Persons with Disabilities is the right to express, communicate, and obtain information. In an effort to realize these rights, we as students working in the world of special education want to provide a platform for children with special needs to be able to obtain these rights. With the commemoration of the International Day of Disabilities, children with special needs can hone their potential through various series of activities held. In addition, the public is also expected to be able to participate and obtain information to increase their knoledge about the world disability.
